  • Funeral services for Freddie Windle McMeans, 85, of granbury, were held Friday, Sept. 23, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church in granbury. A graveside service with military honors was Friday in the Valera Cemetery in Valera, Coleman County.

  • 'Winston T. Palmer (Hood County News)
  • A memorial service for Winston T. Palmer, 76, of Granbury was held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2005 at the Wiley Funeral Home Chapel. The engineer/tool and die maker died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005 in Fort Worth. He was born Dec. 18, 1928 in Louiseville, Ark., the son of Roland and Sally Palmer.

  • 'GHS girls golf begins '05 season (Hood County News)
  • There is no margin for error for the Granbury Lady Pirate golf team this fall. Coach Becky Addison is only carrying four players on the varsity team because of a lack of experience.

  • The granbury office of the Texas Health and Human Services is being closed along with offices in Weatherford and Glen Rose. Hood County will be served from an office in Cleburne.
