- 'Back to square One Pirates use off-week to start over (Hood County News) The granbury Pirate football team is 0-0. At least that?s the mindset first-year head coach Mark Wright is hoping to instill during this week off. ?We decided to start with a clean slate,? Wright said. ?We took all the (award) stickers off the helmets.

- 'Life (Herald Democrat) A gospel comedy, "Smoke on the Mountain", will open the season for the Sherman Community Players. Managing director Ron Cassady and musical director Scottie Johnson describe the production as "uplifting and hilarious" - a hit across the country, including Branson, Mo., and the Granbury Opry House.
- 'Kathryn Dorothy Long (Hood County News) Graveside service for Kathryn Dorothy Long, 90, of Dallas will be held today (Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005) at 4 p.m. in Action Cemetery. The retired bookkeeper died Monday, Sept. 12, 2005 in Dallas. She and her husband, Jack Long lived here before his death in 1993.
