'GHS qualifies 15 swimmers for regionals (Hood County News)Once again the granbury High swim team will be well-represented at regionals. The Pirates qualified eight and the Lady Pirates are sending eight to the Class 5A Region I Meet at Loos Pool in Dallas Feb. 10-11.

'Thanks to PK plant, Lake Granbury still full (Hood County News)While most area lakes are four, five and even 13 feet low, Lake granbury is near capacity. With record drought and increased water usage bringing lake levels down across the state, Lake granbury seems to be ?sitting pretty.?

'Louise Corbell (Hood County News)Final rites for Louise Corbell were held Monday at Martin?s Funeral Home Chapel in Granbury. Burial was in Holly Hills Memorial Park. She was preceded in death by a son, Kippy Corbell, her mother, Alta Cameron, a sister; Mary Brinlee and nephew, Jamie McAnally.

The Granbury Lady Pirates would probably like to forget both of their games against the Summit Lady Jaguars this season. 'James Dean Brock (Hood County News)Funeral services for James Dean Brock, 60, of Granbury, were held Monday in the Greenwood Chapel in Fort Worth. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Lingleville Monday afternoon.

'Granbury slips by Arlington Heights (Hood County News)The Granbury Pirates will enter the District 4-5A soccer race with a .500 record after Friday's 2-1 victory at Arlington Heights. The Pirates improved to 4-4-1 as Brandon Watson scored both goals.

'Ire ?Bud? Westbrook (Hood County News)A graveside service for Ire ?Bud? Westbrook, 64, of Granbury, is at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2006 in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving. Westbrook died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006 in Granbury.

'Glen Franklin Knight (Hood County News)Glenn Franklin Knight, Sr., 90, of granbury, passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2006, in granbury. No services are planned at this time. Knight was born June 13, 1915, in Anna, Ill. He retired as a train master from the Illinois terminal of the Norfork and Southern Railroad in June 1973.
