    'Opera: tame and tamer (Hood County News)The Granbury Opera House ushers in a new era, with a year of family entertainment planned for the historic theater. The Swinging Sisters musical, featuring the Andrews Sisters story, will open the 2006 season at the Opera House with a two-week run March 11-26.

    'Dead man, 60, leaves mystery (Hood County News)Stacey Douglas Hall was a 60-year-old Granbury resident known to have suffered a heart ailment. On Dec. 10, he was pronounced dead of natural causes at his Blue Water Shores residence by Justice of the Peace Martin Castillo. Hall was buried Friday morning at Holly Hills Memorial Park.

    'Marion Metcalf (Hood County News)Marion Metcalf, 87, of Granbury died Jan. 4, 2006 at Granbury. Graveside services were held Friday, Jan. 6, 2006 at Holly Hills Memorial Park. Mr. Metcalf was born Sept. 23, 1918 in Casey, Ark. to Ollie James and Florence Belt Metcalf.

    'First Baby of New Year (Hood County News)The first baby born in the New Year at Lake Granbury Medical Center was in no rush. Jennifer Leigh Ann Carmack arrived at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2006. She is the daughter of Kent and Andrea Carmack. Dr. Kathryn Arbabi delivered the fifth member of the Carmack family.

    'Louis O. Pelton (Hood County News)Louis O. Pelton, 68, of Granbury passed away Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006 in Fort Worth. Funeral service is at 10 a.m. today (Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006) at Holly Hills Mausoleum Chapel in Granbury.
