- 'Born to Fly (Hood County News) A family of flyers gathered at granbury Airport last Wednesday to see one of their own honored as recipient of the prestigious Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award.
- 'Northwest takes wind out of Pirates sails (Wise County Messenger) The Northwest Texans sank the granbury Pirates 48-21 Friday in the season opener for both teams at Pirate Stadium. The Texans were paced by sophomore running back Drew Ashley who carried the football 18 times for 217 yards and four touchdowns.

- 'Luana Jean Parks (Hood County News) A longtime resident of deCordova, Luana Jean Parks, 69, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005 in Granbury. Burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth was private.
- 'He's pickin' on strings instead of pickin' up wins (Hood County News) Chuck Curtis? last visit to Granbury in an official capacity was 1983. The Curtis-coached Cleburne football team took the measure of the locals at Pirate Stadium. Granbury citizens should find his latest appearance, 22 years later, considerably more harmonious.
- 'Suggestive Opera plays drawing praise, criticism (Hood County News) Two recent productions at the Texas Star Theatre at the Historic Granbury Opera House drew both harsh criticism and applause. The response has been in letters and e-mails to the Opera management and board, and letters to the editor and Sound Offs to the Hood County News.
- 'Economic development director appointed (Hood County News) Joey Grisham of Mobile, Ala. was appointed economic development director for the granbury/Hood County Economic Development Corp. Grisham was selected from a field of six applicants.
