A memorial service for Leslye Ann Floyd, 61, of granbury will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005 in Faith Assembly of God Church in granbury. The loving wife and mother passed away Monday, Aug. 22, 2005.

Funeral services for Ruby Louise McCorkle Clowdus, 83, of granbury were held Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005 at Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Arlington. The retired government employee died Monday, Aug. 22, 2005 in granbury. She was born May 22, 1922 in Hope, Ark to Vollie Mae and Grant T. Lawson.
• 'Lady Pirates continue solid '05 campaign (Hood County News)
The Granbury Lady Pirate volleyball team moved back above .500 for the season Tuesday with a four-game victory against O.D. Wyatt in Fort Worth. Even though the Lady Pirates won to improve to 7-6 overall, it was not without a fight from the Lady Chaparrals.

It doesn?t take much to get members of the Granbury varsity football team excited. Just a little sticker with a picture of a skull and crossbones. They?re not very big, just a few inches in diameter in fact, but they get big results.

Chuck Curtis? last visit to Granbury in an official capacity was 1983. The Curtis-coached Cleburne football team took the measure of the locals at Pirate Stadium. Granbury citizens should find his latest appearance, 22 years later, considerably more harmonious.

What a difference a flood makes. Water from the heavy rains north of Abilene last week filled Lake granbury and the Brazos River below the dam over the weekend.
